Annual Mental Health Wellness Check

Just as we schedule an annual physical to care for our bodies, our mental health deserves the same attention.

Many emotional and behavioral concerns develop gradually over time. Anxiety, depression, trauma, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, emotional dysregulation, rigid coping styles, and relationship difficulties often begin long before they become obvious enough to interfere with daily life. An annual mental health wellness check provides an opportunity to recognize these patterns early, celebrate areas of resilience, and identify opportunities for growth before concerns become more significant.

Who Is This For?

Our Annual Mental Health Wellness Check is designed for adolescents and young adults (approximately ages 12–21) and can be especially valuable for individuals who are:

  • Beginning middle school, high school, or college

  • Experiencing increased academic or social stress

  • Managing ADHD, anxiety, OCD, or mood concerns

  • Recovering from trauma or significant life changes

  • Wondering whether current struggles are part of normal development or something that deserves further attention

  • Interested in understanding themselves more fully, even if they are not currently in therapy

Prevention Is Powerful

Mental health is not simply the absence of illness. It is the ability to adapt, connect, regulate emotions, solve problems, and navigate life's challenges with flexibility and resilience.

Just as routine medical checkups help us stay physically healthy, annual mental health wellness checks allow us to monitor emotional well-being, identify concerns early, and support lifelong psychological health.

Investing in mental wellness today can make a meaningful difference tomorrow. Whether the results provide reassurance or identify opportunities for additional support, our goal is to help individuals and families make informed decisions that promote lasting emotional health and well-being..

At Upstate Integrative Mind Counseling, our Annual Mental Health Wellness Check offers a comprehensive evaluation of emotional, psychological, and behavioral functioning for adolescents and young adults. Rather than focusing on a single diagnosis, we take a whole-person approach to understanding how an individual is functioning across multiple areas of life.

Our assessment may include evaluation of:

  • Emotional well-being

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Stress and life events

  • Trauma symptoms

  • Dissociation

  • Obsessive-compulsive symptoms

  • Emotional regulation skills

  • Personality and coping style, including overcontrolled coping patterns

  • Executive functioning and attention concerns

  • Relationships and social connectedness

  • Self-esteem and identity development

  • Sleep, nutrition, and overall wellness habits

  • School, work, and daily functioning

  • Risk behaviors and safety concerns

  • Substance use screening

  • Family functioning and support systems

  • Personal strengths, resilience, and protective factors

Following the assessment, you'll receive an individualized report summarizing areas of strength, potential concerns, and personalized recommendations for maintaining or improving mental wellness. For many individuals, this may simply provide reassurance and practical strategies for continued growth. For others, it may identify concerns that would benefit from additional support before they become more disruptive.
