Peer Support Groups
Peer Support Groups at Upstate Integrative Mind Counseling
Finding Connection, Building Community, and Growing Together
Sometimes, one of the most meaningful parts of healing is discovering that you are not alone.
At Upstate Integrative Mind Counseling, we believe that connection, belonging, and shared experiences are essential parts of emotional well-being. While individual therapy provides an important space for personal growth, peer support groups offer something different: the opportunity to connect with others who understand the challenges, questions, and experiences that can sometimes leave us feeling isolated.
Our peer support groups are designed to bring people together around shared life experiences, whether they are navigating parenting challenges, chronic health conditions, complicated relationships, life transitions, or other experiences that benefit from community and understanding.
These groups are about connection, not diagnosis.
Participants are encouraged to share their experiences, exchange perspectives, offer mutual encouragement, and learn from one another in a welcoming, respectful environment. Some groups may include educational discussions or guidance from a facilitator, while others focus primarily on conversation and shared support.
As we continue expanding our peer support offerings, our goal is to create meaningful spaces where individuals and families can find understanding, strengthen their support networks, and develop a greater sense of belonging.
You don't have to have everything figured out to find your people. Sometimes, showing up is where connection begins.
Please note: Peer support groups are not psychotherapy groups and do not replace individual mental health treatment. Participation in a peer support group does not establish a therapist-client relationship.
Coffee and Coregulation
Coffee & Co-Regulation is a weekly, therapist-facilitated peer support group for parents and caregivers of children who struggle with emotional dysregulation, including ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, DMDD, and related challenges. The group offers a welcoming space to share experiences, connect with other parents, and find encouragement while navigating the highs, lows, and everything in between.
